The Magic Play

A live magic show and play combine to form this theatrical experience. In the show, magician, actor and illusion designer Brett Schneider struggles to keep his personal and professional lives separate as he deals with a breakup.

Syracuse Fashion Week Gala

Syracuse Fashion Week 2018 is under way, and the annual event kicks off this week. For the first time, the gala/fashion show will feature all original designers. The night filled with fashion, music and art will also feature a surprise, as the 90th anniversary of The Landmark Theatre is celebrated on the same night. Proceeds go towards the Food Bank of Central New York.
When: Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Jazz and Wine

Six-time SAMMY winner Ronnie Leigh is bringing jazz to the Community Folk Art Center this weekend. Leigh has performed across the United States and Canada and has shared the stage with artists like Etta Jones, John Hendricks and Tom Scott.
When: Friday at 7 p.m.
Where: Community Folk Art Center, 805 E. Genesee St.

Salt City Horror Fest

The 13th annual Salt City Horror Fest will feature eight classic scary movies such as “King Kong,” “The Manson Massacre” and “Pet Sematary.” Special guests including actress Denise Crosby and actor Rick Catizone will be at the event.
When: Saturday at 11 a.m.

Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime

Badfish is a tribute band to the 1990s group Sublime, and aims to capture Sublime’s spirited, energetic essence of Sublime in their tribute to the ’90s band. The band, which wraps up its East Coast tour in Toronto later this month, features Pat Downes, Joel Hanks, Scott Begin and Dorian Duffy.
When: Saturday at 8 p.m.
Where: The Westcott Theater, 524 Westcott St.
Cost: $15-$20

2018 Organ Crawl

Attendees will be guided through a tour of organs in four downtown Syracuse churches, hosted by the Cathedral Square Neighborhood Association. The tour will feature performances by local musicians and historic facts about the churches and organs. This is the first annual organ crawl since 2015 that will feature the Cathedral’s Roosevelt Organ since the building’s $12 million renovation.
When: Sunday from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Where: Tour begins at Plymouth Congregational Church, 232 E Onondaga St.
Cost: $12 in advance, $15 at the door

De-stress with DPS

The Syracuse University Department of Public Safety and the Office of Health Promotion are hosting stress-busting event during the “dog days” of finals. Therapy dogs will be provided by GO Team Therapy Dogs.
When: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 8-11 p.m.
