Syracuse continued its strong start to the season at the Harvard Crimson Elite Invitational on Friday. Many finished near the front, and freshman Aviana Goode won the long jump with a personal best of 5.81 meters.

Also on the women’s side, Danielle Delgado finished second in the 60-meter hurdles final with a time of 8.44 seconds. Dasia Pressley was the lone SU runner in the 60-meter dash final and finished seventh at 7.55 seconds. Lastly, Alexis Harper placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.89 seconds.

The men were led by Angelo Goss, who finished second in the 60-meter hurdles final with a time of 7.77 seconds, the best time of all collegiate runners. Richard Floyd came in fourth followed by David Gilstrap in fifth and Kelvin Almonte in seventh.

Also on the men’s side, Randall Johnson placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 6.83 meters. Pascal Bastien finished just behind him in seventh. Chris Tucker and Chuka Soronnadi finished sixth and seventh respectively in the 60-meter dash final with times of 6.89 and 6.91 seconds. The final Syracuse runner of the day for the men, Jalen Racine, placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 51.00 seconds.

Syracuse runners will continue their busy weekend Saturday at the Boston University Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational. The team will be without Justyn Knight, who was named ACC Indoor Track Performer of the Week on Tuesday.

Knight is instead slated to run the 3000-meter race at the New York Road Runners Millrose Games as the only collegiate runner in his race. The games, featuring multiple Olympians, will air on NBC. Knight’s race is slated to begin at 4:52 p.m.
