Ahead of its season opener on Feb. 8, Syracuse was ranked 13th in the latest Inside Lacrosse preseason poll. The Orange finished last season at No. 19 after falling to Princeton in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Syracuse is returning three of its four leading scorers from last season and most of its starters, including junior goalie Asa Goldstock. SU is coming off its worst season in program history, having lost 10 of 19 games in its first losing season ever.

Five other Atlantic Coast Conference schools are ranked. National runner-up last season Boston College is No. 1 and North Carolina comes in at No. 3, while Virginia Tech (No. 11), Virginia (No. 16) and Duke (No. 19) round out the rankings. The Orange will play 10 games against teams ranked in the preseason top-20.

Syracuse begins its season on Feb. 8 against Connecticut at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
