No. 13 Syracuse (7-2, 4-2 Atlantic Coast) quarterback Eric Dungey has been named one of 10 finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award given to the top quarterback in the nation.
Quarterbacks nominated for the award must be on schedule to graduate with their freshmsn class, so the award can only go to seniors or graduating redshirt juniors, foregoing their redshirt senior seasons.
This season, Dungey ranks second in the ACC and 18th in the nation with 292.1 yards of offense per game. He has thrown for 2,001 yards and 13 touchdowns while leading the team in rushing with 628 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Should Dungey win, he would be the second SU recipient of the award, following Don McPherson in 1987. Marvin Graves was nominated in 1993 and Donovan McNabb was nominated in 1998.
