Andre Szmyt becomes SU’s single-season points leader against Louisville

Andre Szmyt became Syracuse’s single-season points leader in program history with a PAT in the fourth quarter to put No. 13 Syracuse (8-2, 5-2 Atlantic Coast) ahead of Louisville (2-8, 0-7), 51-14. His 129 points overtook former points leader Walter Reyes’ 128.
Szmyt added another field goal to up his point total to 132 and currently needs four more field goals this season to tie the NCAA single-season record of 31. Szmyt is already seven field goals ahead of Syracuse’s former record of 20 field goals in a single season, set by Cole Murphy in 2017.
Earlier this season Szmyt was elevated from a preferred walk-on to a full scholarship player. He was also listed as an ESPN mid-season All-American.
